Karaoke Kontests
I can take them or leave them. It's nice to have a contest to put a spotlight on the crowd's favorites. Contests usually bring your die-hard entertainers out of the woodwork into your establishment. At a private party, it's a great motivator to get people to get involved. However, I see karaoke as an entertainment medium for everyone (especially in a bar), whether or not they have the voice of an angel. We all compete enough as it is in our day jobs.
