I'm Elaine R., one of the top KJs with Sing Outta Tune Karaoke, the fun part of Sound Center DeeJays. But you knew that, or you wouldn't be here, would ya? You also wouldn't be here if you weren't just a little bit curious about who I am, and what makes me tick. So, without further adieu, I will share with you a little about myself. I've lived in the Northern Virginia all of my life. I'm one of the few people I know who admits to having been born in Washington DC. I'm the youngest of five young'uns raised by Bernie & Marge, who still live in that same old house in Vienna, Virginia. I'm divorced, and I live in a cozy little condo in Herndon, Virginia, just minutes away from convenient Dulles International Airport (I sound like a commercial, don't I?).

Many people wonder how a savvy professional such as myself would end up in the DJ biz. Well, here's how it happened: While at a public karaoke show, I was approached by the KJ, who told me that people liked when I performed, and that perhaps I should try this from the other side of the equipment. I'll admit I was scared half to death of the idea of becoming a DJ/KJ, but I needed the money, so I said "what the heck." In retrospect, it's one of the best decisions I've made in my life. The rest is history. Let's talk about the today me. I have been told that I'm the most versatile employee on the SCDJ staff, because not only can I provide karaoke services, I can also DJ, teach a few line dances, and play games with kids of all ages. My personal business motto is "bars to bar mitzvahs," meaning that I've got the experience to make your event what it needs to be - be it formal and scripted or wild and interactive.

Born: Friday, July 15, in Washington DC. Yes, that makes me old enough to run for President, so look out!

Hobbies: Karaoke; air hockey; cribbage; walking and cycling; going to movies, musicals, and comedy theatre performances; and collecting buttons, penguin stuff, and Pez dispensers.

Music: You name it. It's my drug of choice. I like everything, but I would fit most of what I listen to in my free time in the categories of Alternative and Dance. My favorite radio station is WWDC, 101.1 FM (www.dc101.com).

TV: I don't watch much of it, because I don't sit still very well. Besides, it'll fry your brain.

Favorite karaoke disc brand: Sound Choice - hands down. Songs come out quickly and inexpensively, and you don't have to worry about a music video offending the parents of a young singer.

Favorite Search Engine: Dogpile - www.dogpile.com

Here I am!!! Here is a picture of me in my parents' back yard, in the middle of our Mother's Day Mulching festivities.This was after I did a 5 hour show that morning, starting at 6:15, after getting in after midnight from a sweet 16 party the night before. The morning show was a fund raiser for Breast Cancer Research and I did aerobics with the runners, and played lots of songs that celebrated women and got them jazzed for their run.

Me and the Future Mrs. Nick Carter!!! This is me with my niece Nancy (a.k.a. Trixie Firecracker). She rocks! Just for her, I'd like to give a shout out to Nick Carter that she's available.
